What are the guidelines for international travellers coming to India?

When the pandemic started in the year 2019, the travel guidelines were revised in most countries. In many nations, international and domestic travel was banned during this time. Now that we have entered 2022 and registered a decrease in the number of coronavirus positive patients, restrictions on flying are being eased. India is one such nation that is allowing people from other countries to cross its border. But there are certain guidelines that travellers must follow.   1. Planning to Travel:

Passengers planning to fly to India should provide complete and factual information in a self-declaration form available on the online Air Suvidha portal. While doing so, they should mention the travel details for the last 14 days. They also need to upload a negative covid-19 RT-PCR report or a certificate of completing the primary vaccination schedule of the covid-19 vaccine. Moreover, a declaration of the report's authenticity must also be submitted. The travellers must provide an undertaking on the Air Suvidha portal or submit it to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.


2. Before Boarding:

Before boarding the flight, passengers shall be provided with a list of do's and dont's along with the ticket. Only asymptomatic flyers will be allowed to board after the thermal screening. Also, they shall be advised to install the Arogya Setu App on their phones.


3. During Travel:

When travellers are in flight, an announcement shall be made about the precautionary measures that flyers must follow. The crew must ensure that the passengers are following covid-19 appropriate behaviour at all times. If a traveller is showing covid symptoms like fever, he shall be isolated during the journey. Also, passengers will be informed about the testing requirements to avoid crowding at the airport.


4. On Arrival:

Physical distancing must be ensured once the passengers have reached the airport. Thermal screening should be carried out at the time by the health officials. If any passenger displays covid-19 symptoms, he shall be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility. Furthermore, 2% of the total passengers shall be tested post-arrival randomly to ensure everyone's safety. Besides, all the travellers need to be advised to self-monitor their condition for the next fourteen days of arrival.
